From December 14th to 15th, the technological research meeting forSinopec “Ten-drag Projects” in 2017 was held in Beijing. The meeting waschaired by Xie Zaiku, the director of the Department of Science and Technologyof Sinopec Group and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. MaYongsheng, the deputy general manager of Sinopec Group and academician of theChinese Academy of Engineering delivered important instructions on Sinopec’sscientific and technological development work and Sinopec “Ten-drag Projects”.The meeting reviewed the 23 "entry" and "exit" projects inthe fields of exploration and development, oil refining, chemicals, materials,and utilities, and conducted annual work co-operation and deployment for theongoing research projects.

The company’s delegation led by Kang Wanzhong, the deputy generalmanager of the company, attended the meeting, and Guo Wenyuan, the executivedeputy manager of Ningbo Institute of Technology made a report to the meetingon the 2,000 t/d Clean and Efficient SE Pulverized Coal Gasification TechnologyDemonstration Project for entering the “Ten-drag Projects”. Through reporting,team review and specialist assessment, the 2,000 t/d Clean and Efficient SEPulverized Coal Gasification Technology Demonstration Project jointlyundertaken by Sinopec-Kuwait Integrated Refining and Petrochemical Project,Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd, Ningbo Institute of Technology and EastChina University of Science and Technology "was successfully" enteredinto the “Top-drag Projects”. This is the second entered demonstration projectafter 1,000t/d "SE-Oriental Gasifier” was successfully demonstrated inYangzi Photochemical Company, and the third ongoing top-drag project incompany's SE SE-Oriental Gasifier series coal gasification technology.

Currently, 2,000t/d gasifiers are the mainstream gasifiers used in thecoal gasification market. This project is targeted to upgrade1,000t/d and1,500t/d “SE-Oriental Gasifier”, with greater processing capacity and moreadaptable to coal types. It is a large-size, clean and efficient entrained-flowbed pulverized coal gasification technology that is more intelligent, reliableand stable, and more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly. The R&Dand industrial demonstration of this technology will provide integratedsolutions for supply of syngas, hydrogen, and high calorific value fuel gas toconstruction of large-size integrated refinery plants. It will also furtherenhance the independent coal gasification technology of Sinopec Group andimprove the company leading position in gasification sector and provide strongtechnical support for the construction of large-size coal chemical plants andsustainable development of the company.
