In the morning of July 29, the commencement ceremony for the Denitration and Desulfurization Project was held in the morning of July 29, signifying the official commencement of the project. The project is a part of the project for the adjusting, modification and upgrading of refining structure, belonging to Sinopec Jinan Refining & Chemical Company. Attendants to the ceremony include the leaders from the project department of Sinopec Group, Jinan Branch and Shangdong Meilong Project Management Company, the vice-general manager of the company Kang Wanzhong, who also made a speech at the ceremony, and the head persons of Denitration and Desulfurization Technology Company and Shanghai Jinshan Branch, as well as the staff of Jinan project department.

The project is a key project of Sinopec as a part of “green water and blue sky” campaign aimed for environmental protection and environmental comprehensive improvement, which is Sinopec’s practice of green and low-carbon strategy. After completion, the project will effectively enhance the environmental protection level of Jinan Branch, speed up the pace of low-carbon development and largely increase its overall competitiveness. According to the contract, the exhaust gas denitration and desulfurization project undertaken by the company involves basic engineering design, detailed engineering design, procurement, construction and technical service. According to the contract, due to the features of the project such as compact layout of plant area, highly concentrated work quantity and high safety risks, the construction period is 411 days.

For now, the basic design of the project has been completed, the detailed design is under way as scheduled, the procurement for equipment and materials has been started, the project team has been formed and arrived at the site, and the construction is partly being done properly according to overall plan.
