The lower segmentsat EP absorption column stack of FREP’s catalytic flue gas purification project, which was made by Ningbo Tianyi Manufacture Company, was successfully assembled at Yufang base on March 9.

The EP absorption column stack, nearly 20 meters long and weighing about 342 tons, is constructed as double-walled stack. The internal shell (liner), with its main body made of material 6 mm thick, is only left a clearance of 6 mm to the external shell. The thin wall thickness and small clearance leads to the excess ovality of internal shell and excess length to putting through the opening or hole for installation, which is not good for assembly. To make sure the internal and external shells are properly assembled as scheduled, the riveting team made reasonable assembly schemes in advance through communication with the technical department. And with the close collaboration of different disciplines including riveting and lifting and by rational use of various equipment such as 50 tons traveling crane, forklift and trolley, the assembly work was successfully completed after three hours of hard work.
