The prize winners of the 12^th Ningbo Invention and Innovation Competition were unveiled recently. The company won a winning prize for the invention patent of process installation room, namely the “energy-saving H₂S concentration process with low temperature methanol washing”.

The “energy-saving H2S concentration process with low-temperature methanol washing” is applied in the unit to remove acid gas from synthesis gas at coal gasification plant, where it serves to have the methanol absorbed CO2 undergoing nitrogen gas striping and flash evaporation before discharging tail gas and at the same time gather H2S. The patent, as an upgrading of the existing gas stripping technologies available in China and the world, namely the two-pump and two-cycle single gas stripping process and the three-pump and three-cycle single gas stripping process, neither of which is able to reduce equipment cost and energy consumption to the maximum extent, provides an enhanced low-pressure nitrogen gas stripping effect while helping to reduce equipment cost and energy consumption.
