The Company Initiated Discussion and Review on Corporate Culture Establishment

On July 17, the kick-offmeeting for the discussion and review on corporate culture establishment (CCE)was held at room 211 in the head office building of the company. Attendants tothe meeting included persons-in-charge from corporate culture establishmentcommittee (CCEC) office and persons in charge of specific work, secretaries ofparty organizations under direct administration of the committee, party branchsecretaries of the party committees of the company and project managementcenter and some league branch secretaries. Company leader Wang Jianlin alsoattended the meeting and put forward work requirements.

A retrospect of the CCEwork in the past four months was made. As 2018 is the year of CCE, the CCEC ledspecific work teams to prepare Corporate Culture Manual (for discussion) and achieved staged results based on hard work in previous stages under theleadership of the party committee of the company, which provides sufficientconditions for the discussion and review on CCE.

The core cultural conceptsand specific cultural concepts in the Corporate Culture Manual (for discussion)were explained thoroughly during themeeting.

According to the timelinein the Plan for Corporate Culture Establishment, the discussion andreview on CCE will be carried out in three stages. From July 15 to August 30,the discussion and review will be carried out among employees throughout thecompany; from July 20 to August 20, the preparation for the discussion andreview on core culture and specific culture will be made, and; from August 15to 30, the results of discussion and review on core culture will be furtherdiscussed and reviewed. The discussion and review is to be carried out amongall employees but with focus being put on leaders and cadres of all levels. Themain forms of discussion and review include questionnaire survey, interview,comments soliciting, lecture, discussion, “threemeetings and one lesson” and themed party day, etc. The purpose ofdiscussion and review is to ensure corporate culture is rooted in people.

Wang Jianlin recognizedwhat have been achieved in previous stages by CCEC office and specific workteams, and also put forward some requirements on the discussion and review onCCE. First, great attention is needed. The party branches, government organs,labor unions and league branches of all levels, especially the leaders of theseorganizations, shall have a full understanding of the importance andsignificance of CCE for promoting the development of the company, and take thelead to participate into the discussion and review on CCE and to give speechand offer comments during the activity. Second, an appropriate atmosphere shallbe created. The status and progress of the discussion and review work shall bemade public from time to time to create an appropriate propaganda atmospherefor CCE. Third, all employees must engage. All employees shall be encouraged totake part in the discussion and review work as a way to spread corporateculture, increase cultural consensus of employees, pool together the wisdom ofemployees and improve the CCE work. Fourth, effective results must be made. Thegovernment organs, labor unions and league branches of all levels shall notonly listen to the opinions and suggestions of cadres and employees, but alsoabsorb and refine the wisdom from them, especially the views and ideas ofbackbone employees and young people, in an aim to provide strong support forthe shaping and maturing of the company’s corporate culture.
