The company completed the laying of the top steel gratingsfor the pipe rack at Zhongtian Hechuang’s 900,000t/a refined methanol plant onNovember 5. The laying work lasted for six days, with 920 m² (over770 sections) of steel gratings being laid down. 180m of railings wereinstalled at the same time to make sure the laying work is done safely. Thesuccessful laying laid a solid foundation for the installation of air cooler onthe gratings.

As the laying work wasconducted at the top layer of pipe rack, where the height is 15.35 meters, thework involved the cross operation of various work including high place work,lifting work and border operation, which is highly risky. With great importancebeing attached to work safety, the project department organized safetydiscussions and confirmed technical measures for safety before any work wasstarted, and required the engineers of HSE department and QA/QC department toconduct supervision in the whole process of all work. To make sure the layingwork is conducted safely and orderly, a three-step measure was adopted, namely,to conduct laying section by section, to install railings at the same time, andto inspect and confirm after each section is completed.
