The 23^th National Technical Annual Meeting for Large Synthetic Ammonia Plant andCoal-to-Synthetic Gas and Methanol Plant was held at Erdos during September20~22, 2017. The meeting was jointly organized by Sinopec Ningbo TechnicalInstitute and the editorial office of Large Scale Nitrogenous FertilizerIndustry, with the supports of ChinaCoal Erdos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd.and Zhongtian Hechuang Energy Co., Ltd.. Leaders attending the meeting includeSun Baoci, director of editorial committee of Large Scale NitrogenousFertilizer Industry, Zhang Wei, director of chemical business department ofSinopec, Cui Shuming, vice general manager of ChinaCoal Erdos Energy ChemicalCo., Ltd., Xiong Jun, vice general manager of Zhongtian Hechuang Energy Co.,Ltd., Guo Wenyuan, executive vice-president Ningbo Technical Institute, andother related leaders.

In total, 114representatives from 50 companies attended the meeting, involving Sinopec,PetroChina and major domestic large companies engaging in nitrogen fertilizer,and related research institutes and higher education institutions, as well asboth Chinese and foreign famous patent licensors and catalyst suppliers likeKBR, Clariant.

Thanks to the advanceplanning and efficient organization of the meeting organizers as well as theactive engagement and great support of related companies, as many as 139articles were contributed to the meeting by 23 entities, including Large ScaleFertilizer companies, research institutes, design institutes, related patentlicensor and suppliers of key equipment and catalyst, and 119 of which werepublished in the supplement issue I and II of Large Scale NitrogenousFertilizer Industry. Centering around the production, operation and technicalimprovement of synthetic ammonia and methanol, process safety and operationmanagement, environmental protection and water treatment and catalystapplication, the meeting consists of 27 sessions targeted at different themesand disciplines, covering a wide range of interesting, practical andright-to-target contents and information. Representatives from the processsystem office of our company gave reports at the meeting, namely, Pang Rui’sDevelopment and Engineering Application of Packaged Technology for SinopecCoal-to-Synthetic Gas, and Feng Liangjie’s Largest Coal-based Olefins Projectin China－ZhongtianHechuang Erdos Coal Deep-processing Pilot Project. Chen Xin from Desulfurizationand Denitration Technology Company made the report of Boiler Flue Gas ControlTechnology and Outlook.

In addition to technicalexchanges on process using natural gas and coal as feed stocks as well asrelated equipment and instruments, the meeting also included visiting tours tonew large coal gasification, synthetic ammonia and methanol plants, such asZhongtian Hechuang Energy Co., Ltd. And ChinaCoal Erdos Energy Chemical Co.,Ltd.. By taking the opportunity of the meeting, company representativesactively interacted with each other for experience exchange and informationcommunication, which had their eyes open wider and mutual understanding furtherincreased, forming a positive impetus and support for companies attending themeeting as well as the long-time and optimal operation and technicaladvancement of domestic large synthetic ammonia, synthetic gas and methanolplants.
