Yangtze Petrochemical Coal to Syngas Project Put into Operation Successfully

Recently, 1000t/d single nozzle cold wall pulverized coal pressurization and gasification industrial demonstrative plant ignition was successful, this project was developed by SNEC and Shanghai East China University of Science and Technology, the plant produced qualified hydrogen, after that, the plant has continuous and steady running and changed from nitrogen case to CO2 case successfully, it marks that Yangtze Coal to Syngas demonstrative project obtaining success.

Yangtze Petrochemical Coal to Syngas Project is SINOPEC science and technology “10-dragon” project and is the first application and demonstration to use SINOPEC SE (oriental furnace) single nozzle cold wall pulverized pressurization and gasification technology in engineering. The successful trial production of the gasifier marks that SINOPEC obtained important advancement in coal gasification technology field, it also marks that SINOPEC has taken an important step to new coal chemical industry. In this project, gasification, sour shift and Rectisol all use SNEC’s self process technology, which realized industrial application successfully. The success of the demonstrative project has great significance to SINOPEC coal chemical project development and SNEC market expanding.

In nearly 27 months from project beginning in November of 2011 to plant producing qualified hydrogen successfully, this project experienced each stage of feasibility study, process package design, basic engineering design, detail engineering design, site construction and plant commissioning, it created the shortest time of initial successful startup in similar plant construction. Yangtze project design team only took 14 months finishing process package, basic engineering design and detail engineering design, etc., it rendered strong support and guarantee for project site construction and commissioning and obtained highly affirmation and appraisal from Owner, established SNEC’s good image.
